Step 1

Open the Puffbum Moment

Open PuffZenDen and you will land in your calm space, greeted by name. Right at the top sits The Puffbum Moment, the heart of the app, where touch guides the breath.

Pick up your Puffbum and tap Start breathing. Not sure what it will feel like? Press and hold the button first to get a taste before you begin.

Step 2

Choose what you need

The app asks one simple question: What do you need? You choose based on how you feel right now, not on a plan you have to keep up with.

I'm ready for bedease into rest
I feel overwhelmedsettle racing thoughts
I need to focusclear mental clutter
I can't switch offslow down after a busy day
I need to unwindcome down gently
Quick reseta discreet calm pause

The app gently suggests one based on the time of day. Late at night, that is I'm ready for bed. Prefer something more structured? Tap Browse calm plans instead.

Step 3

Tell the app if your Puffbum is with you

Next, PuffZenDen asks: Do you have your Puffbum with you? Tap Yes, I have it for the full tactile experience.

If it is in another room, tap Not right now. Either way, you can still begin. Your chosen session is shown underneath, for example Sleep Wind Down, and you can switch with Choose a different need.

Step 4

Check your breathing pattern

The breathing screen shows your session and how long it lasts. Sleep Wind Down runs for 5 minutes with a slow, settling rhythm:

  1. Breathe in for 4 seconds
  2. Hold for 4 seconds
  3. Breathe out for 6 seconds
  4. Hold for 2 seconds

The longer out-breath is what helps the body slow down for sleep. You can also switch to Calm Down or Focus Reset along the top, turn on Voice guidance, or choose Quick 60s if a minute is all you have. When you are ready, tap Begin.

Step 5

Settle in with the countdown

A short Get ready countdown gives you a moment to get comfortable. Rest your Puffbum in your palm, loosen your shoulders and let your hands feel its softness. Pause or stop at any time using the buttons below.

Step 6

Squeeze, breathe, release

Now the session begins, guided by your hands:

Inhale and squeeze. As the prompt appears, breathe in slowly and squeeze your Puffbum gently.
Exhale and loosen your grip.Breathe out slowly and let your hands soften, releasing the squeeze.

A gentle counter keeps the rhythm, so you never have to count yourself. The timer shows how much of your session is left.

If your mind wanders, simply come back to the feeling in your hands.

Step 7

Notice how you feel

When the session ends, PuffZenDen asks: How do you feel now? Pick whatever is true: Calmer, Grounded, Clearer, Sleepier or Still unsettled. There is no right answer, and "still unsettled" is always welcome.

The app responds with a short reflection. Choose Sleepier, for example, and it tells you your body is ready to rest. Then choose what comes next:

  • Play sleep sound to carry the calm into sleep
  • Write in your diary to note how the session felt
  • Return to home to finish

Prefer not to check in? Tap Skip and go home.

Tips for your first few sessions

Squeeze gently.Think soft hug, not stress ball. The aim is a calm, steady sensation, not effort.
Try two hands.Holding your Puffbum in both hands, or one in each, can make the squeeze feel fuller and more grounding.
Keep it close.Leave your Puffbum on your bedside table or in your bag so it is there when you need it.
Start small.A Quick 60s reset counts. One breath counts.
